Letting World Cup winner Paul Pogba leave will hurt Man United in future

Manchester United creative midfielder, Paul Pogba time at Old Trafford might finally be coming to an abrupt end very soon. This is coming after numerous narratives that the British press is trying to portray a wedge between head coach Jose Mourinho & the France international midfielder, with his agent also reportedly speaking with Spanish La Liga giants FC Barcelona.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho attempted to play down rumor his relationship with the World Cup winner had hit rock bottom ahead of the side’s Premier League clash against Brighton last Sunday.

Claims of more tension between the two have come following a summer window in which he was reportedly offered to a couple of Europe’s biggest sides by his Agent Mino Raiola, including FC Barcelona.

The Sun reported earlier in the month that Mr Raiola has travelled to Old Trafford for negotiations over the future of his unhappy client.

By placing the skipper’s armband on the midfielder, the Portuguese tactician might have felt he would quell increasing speculation about the 25-year-old’s future at the Premier League club.

Comments by the former Juventus ace himself, and the player’s Super-agent, over the past few days have only fueled the uncertainty.

After what Pogba acknowledged was a rather poor individual performance in Manchester United’s 3-2 defeat at Brighton in the League on Sunday, the Frenchman said he should have performed much better and that his attitude on the day wasn’t right.

The team’s sloppy performance – and Paul Pogba’s central role in the display – invariably attracted a lot of criticism, as with anything involving the club.

Pogba was among big players that lifted the World Cup for France in Russia, as he was central to everything good for the Les Blues in Russia. However, Manchester United fans believe the midfielder fails to turn up at Old Trafford.

The World-cup winner has been having a difficult time under the former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager and has hardly been his sparkling best form he was known for at Juventus and with the France National team.

What about United and their success chances this season? How top betting operators that are active in the UK, such as Royal Panda, will present their offers if Pogba departs? It will surely reduce Man United’s chances of lifting the coveted trophy, so the online betting site is predicting hard future for Jose’s team without Paul Pogba in it.

Pogba’s form for United on and off the pitch is a serious worry to look at for the club generally. He has been strongly criticized for his lack of attempt to improving his work rate at the club under Mourinho.

Critically, the Frenchman is not the only player currently suffering this kind of treatment under the tactician. Pogba’s France compatriot and some other attacking players have heavily struggled to adapt to the rigorous demand of the Portuguese.

In discussing the midfielder’s impressive performance for France at the recently concluded World Cup in Russia, the manager was quoted saying: “I don’t think it’s about us getting the best out of him, it’s about him giving the best he has to give.”

Jose’s decision to give him the captaincy for the start of the campaign, while regular skipper Antonio Valencia is out injured, was notable.

The Frenchman responded by scoring in their opening-day 2-1 victory over Leicester City in the League on Opening day, but muddied the waters while responding to newsmen’s questions after the match about his current situation at Old Trafford.

“There are things and there are things that I cannot say,” he said, somewhat cryptically, “otherwise I will get fined.”
